The Canadiens look to play out of their month long funk and stick it to their arch rivals as they face off against the Bruins at the Bell Centre.
The Boston Bruins will look to exact some revenge indoors this time around as they take on the Habs for the first time since getting pasted in the Winter Classic on January 1st and while they have to play in hostile territory you can bet they are thrilled to get this opportunity tonight. Boston sits in fourth place in the Atlantic division and are a single point up on the Canadiens in a tight race for a playoff spot and with Boston’s sparkling road record and the revenge factor you can bet they will be geared up for this one. The B’s are 4-5-1 in their last 10 contests but are 13-5-3 when playing outside of Massachusetts this season and with Montreal in a rut right now without Carey Price they are only getting worse and now sport a 12-8-2 record at the Bell Centre. Tuukka Rask will get the call in the Boston crease as Mike Condon will counter for the home side.
Many people criticized the make up of this Montreal team as being a Carey Price injury away from a lottery type roster and while they aren’t that bad and are better than how they have ben playing if late it really does go to show how much of an impact Price has on this team. The Canadiens have earned just nine, yes nine points since December 1st and the closest team to them over that span has 17 which puts into perspective how bad they have been over the last month and a half and how desperately they need their goaltender back. Now, I understand it is tough for a team to go on such a bad losing streak but I have no idea how or why the Habs are favoured in this spot as it is a rivalry game and the road team has been lights out in enemy territory this season and are the better team right now
