Ronda Rousey announced on Friday that her next UFC fight will be against undefeated bantamweight Holly Holm on January 2. Rousey, who improved to 12-0 following her 34-second defeat of Bethe Correia, has won her last three fights in a combined 1 minute, 4 seconds.
After Rousey decimated Bethe Correia on Aug. 1, UFC officials said she would next fight Miesha Tate for a third time. Instead, Rousey will take on Holm, a former boxer who is 9-0 all-time in her MMA career and 2-0 in UFC
“She’s definitely my biggest challenge to date, so I’m super excited about it,” Rousey said, per MMAJunkie.
Rousey has been eviscerating her opponents, with all but one match ending during the first round.
However, Holm also boasts her own undefeated record, which currently stands at 9-0. A former three-division boxing champion, according to For The Win, Holm joined the UFC in 2014. Her two matches in the organization came in February and July of this year and were split and unanimous decisions, respectively.
