Princess Secret Denied Entry Into Breeders’ Cup

Princess Secret (Khozan), winner of the Susan’s Girl S. and My Dear Girl S. for owner and trainer Daniel Pita, was denied entry into Friday’s GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies after testing positive for a banned substance. An Oct. 26 blood test administered by the Breeders’ Cup Out-Of-Competition program turned up the presence of Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid clearly prohibited by Breeders’ Cup under its conditions of entry. According to Breeders’ Cup constructs, any horse that tests positive for anabolic steroids or any ARCI-prohibited substances in any out-of-competition sample within six months of participation in the Breeders’ Cup is ruled ineligible […]

New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton to keep remaining $218 million in deal

Giancarlo Stanton is keeping the remaining $218 million and seven guaranteed years in his New York Yankees contract rather than opt out after a pair of injury-decimated campaigns. The designated hitter, who turns 31 on Nov. 8, hit .266 with 38 homers and 100 RBIs in his first campaign with the Yankees in 2018. He batted .288 with three homers and 13 RBIs in 2019, when he was limited to 18 games by a left biceps strain that sidelined him from April 1 to June 18 and a right knee strain that kept him out from June 26 to Sept. 18. He hit […]

4 Tips to Playing Texas Holdem Like a Pro

Many things have changed in the poker world over the past two decades, but you can still become a pro poker player easier today than at any time before Moneymaker beat Sam Farha at the final table in 2003. Here are four ways you can play like a Texas holdem poker pro. The Opposite Rule Many people preach that tight and aggressive play is the best way to win, but this isn’t true in every situation. Stephen Silas to be new head coach of Houston Rockets, sources say

The Houston Rockets are hiring Dallas Mavericks assistant Stephen Silas to become the franchise’s next head coach, sources told ESPN. Silas and the Rockets were finalizing terms on a deal Wednesday afternoon, and a formal announcement was expected soon, sources said. Aidan O’Brien discusses his expected Breeders’ Cup entries

In a year when many things have changed, it will be nice to see the Ballydoyle silks that Americans have grown so comfortable to at the Breeders’ Cup. Aidan O’Brien, one of racing’s all-time most successful trainers and winner of twelve Breeders’ Cup races, could have as many as nine horses in this year’s event. Magical, a seven-time Group 1 champion, who was second to Enable in the 2018 Breeders’ Cup Turf, is expected to lead his charge. She will be considered for the Turf and the Filly & Mare Turf. Los Angeles Dodgers to start Tony Gonsolin opposite Tampa Bay Rays’ Blake Snell in World Series Game 6

The Dodgers spent Monday, what could be their final day before becoming World Series champions, isolated from the world in a resort outside Dallas. It was their 25th day in the bubble. The hotel has become home for this strange playoff run. It wasn’t how they envisioned ending their 32-year title drought, but 2020 doesn’t care for expectations or convenience. They would like nothing more than to end their residency after Game 6 of the World Series at Globe Life Field on Tuesday night. The Dodgers hold a three-games-to-two series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. A fourth win separates them from their first […]

Clayton Kershaw beats Tampa Bay Rays again as Los Angeles Dodgers move one win away from Series

As Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts strolled to the mound with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, a chorus of boos rained down from the crowd at Globe Life Field. Even though this was Game 5 of Major League Baseball’s first neutral-site World Series, Dodgers fans have overrun the stadium, and they let their feelings be known: They did not want Roberts to remove Clayton Kershaw from the match. Roberts did not abide, and as Kershaw strode off the mound, it was to a sound too often unfamiliar to him in October: cheers. If ever there was a postseason to […]
