Betting on the NHL

So there are many words to describe last night, crazy is probably a simple good summary, not just for the world, politics and society but for those betting on the NHL the night was also agitated. In sports betting one thing is for sure, anything can happen, as it turns out not just for sports betting and Donald Trump is now the president of the United States.

In the NHL McDavid outplayed Crosby last night but the Pens outplayed the Oilers winning 4-3. The Canucks beat the Rangers 5-3 which ended the Canucks losing skid at 9 games. The Jets pounded the Stars 8-2 and Laine picked.

Ducks vs. Blue Jackets:

The Ducks come into this game on a 2 game win streak. And the contract dispute with Hampus Lindholm is over and he will join the Ducks.

The Jackets will be without Seth Jones for up to 3 weeks as he deals with a hairline fracture in his right foot. This is a huge loss for the Jackets as he was playing over 24 minutes a night.

These teams last played on October 28th and the Jackets came away with the 4-0 win. Now with Jones out we see the Ducks getting some revenge when they can as this is the last game between these teams.

Blackhawks vs. Blues:

These are always great games between 2 rivals. The Chicago Blackhawks will look to extend their lead over the Blues in the NHL’s Central Division when they meet just under a month, on October 12th St. Louis Blues took their first matchup of the season with a 5-2 win in the Windy City.

The Hawks are on fire right now winning 6 in a row. Chicago has not lost since Game 1 of the World Series yet the ‘Hawks are still being tabbed as underdogs at most sportsbooks. They are also averaging more than 3.50 goals per game which is good for 2nd in the league

The Blues have been on a little run of their own, winning their last three home games but tonight is a problem game. The Blackhawks have not scored fewer than two goals in a game all season and Jake Allen, who will start in net for the Blues, has been extremely unimpressive as their No. 1 netminder. In 10 starts this year, the New Brunswick, Canada native has a save percentage of just .903.

His counterpart tonight, Corey Crawford, has not allowed more than two goals in six starts and owns a career 14-5-5 record against the Blues. He has stopped 93.6 percent of the shots he’s faced this season and has won five consecutive starts.

The last seven matchups between these teams have either gone over or pushed. With Chicago’s defense still lagging a little behind its offense and with Jake Allen still not proving he can handle the duties as a No. 1 goalie in the NHL, I like the over if you can find a total of 5.
