Two Cubs employees tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a training session at Wrigley Field earlier this month. One was hospitalized and the other was recovering at home, spokesman Julian Green stated Sunday. In an email sent to associates Friday, the Cubs informed their staff that two people who participated in a March 8 training in the team’s premier clubs tested positive for the contagious virus. Michael Brockers‘ deal with the Baltimore Ravens fell through over an issue with his ankle, and the free-agent defensive lineman will be returning to the Los Angeles Rams with a similar deal on Friday. FSU Freshman Patrick Williams declares for NBA draft

Florida State freshman Patrick Williams is joining the ranks of college basketball’s one-and-dones. The Seminoles forward informed Thursday that he is entering the 2020 NBA draft. Williams put together a solid campaign at FSU, averaging 9.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist en route to being named the ACC 6th Man of the Year.  As of mid-February, most mock drafts had the 18-year-old projected somewhere in the late first round. Charles Town stops racing until further notice due to coronavirus

With a stroke of his pen March 23, West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) ordered closed all non-essential businesses in the Mountain State – including racetracks. The RFEF has announced that professional football in Spain will only resume once the government deems there is no public health risk. La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have agreed to extend the suspension of the 2019-20 campaign indefinitely. The 146th running of the Kentucky Derby is being reprogrammed for the first Saturday in September, Churchill Downs officials confirm. On Tuesday morning, South American soccer’s organizing body Conmebol reiterated that it would be postponing the Copa América until 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
