As Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network states, the Panthers can’t officially release Olsen until after the Super Bowl, but this announcement means that they will. He was on the books for $11.6 million against the cap. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Olsen’s agent Drew Rosenhaus says his client “is still interested in playing” and that he will be in communication with other teams after the Super Bowl. Astros focus on Dusty Baker to be new manager

A great deal of the offseason has focused on the Houston Astros and their sign-stealing scandal. It finally came to a head earlier this month when the team fired manager AJ Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow. On Tuesday, the Astros chose Dusty Baker as the team’s next manager. During Tuesday’s installment of “Nothing Personal with David Samson,” David Samson weighed in on the decision to hire Baker and why the move was made. “Dusty Baker’s going to be in that dugout and get told what to do by a GM, someone who is his grandson’s age?” Samson asked. “Is that the […]

Raven´s Lamar Jackson named Offensive MVP at Pro Bowl

The AFC beat the NFC 38-33 on Sunday at the 2020 NFL Pro Bowl at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando.  It was the AFC’s fourth consecutive victory in the exhibition showcase.  Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was named the game’s offensive MVP after finishing 16-of-23 for 185 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Not too shabby for the youngest quarterback to ever start in the NFL’s annual all-star showcase Jacksonville Jaguars defensive lineman Calais Campbell (one tackle, one sack, one forced fumble) was named defensive MVP. It shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that Jackson would win the honors, given that he is the […]

Mets close to naming Luis Rojas new manager

The New York Mets are nearing an agreement with Luis Rojas to become the club’s new manager, general manager Brodie Van Wagenen informed reporters, including MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo. The Mets informed Beltran, who was hired by the Mets in November, was out as the club’s manager three days after Beltran was the only player named in the league’s nine-page report summarizing the investigation into the 2017 Astros. Rojas, 38, has managed in the minors throughout the Mets system and was originally set to be the […]

Pelicans forward Zion Williamson excited ahead of NBA debut

Zion Williamson’s debut is emerging, with him set to make his long-awaited NBA debut on Wednesday night versus the San Antonio Spurs. The path back to the court hasn’t been easy for the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 Draft, but he’s ready, at last, to play. “The rehab workouts are long and strenuous,” Williamson said Tuesday. “There were a lot of times where I wanted to punch a wall or kick a chair. It’s frustrating to not be able to move your body the way you want to, especially since I’m 19. It’s been tough, but I battled […]
