Murray to return at ‘Battle of the Brits’ tournament in June

Andy Murray will make his return to tennis at a behind-closed-doors tournament organized by his brother Jamie from June 23-28 in London, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) said last Friday. Murray, 33, has not competed since the Davis Cup Finals in November due to complications with his hip. He was targeting a return to the tour at the Miami Open in March before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Bones out, Jon Jones says he’ll vacate UFC title

Jon Jones says he’s no longer the UFC light heavyweight champion while his ongoing feud with company president Dana White continues to get more tense. Jones seemingly hit a boiling point following comments from White at Saturday’s UFC on ESPN 9 post-fight news conference. The two sides have been going back-and-forth in recent days, with the entire situation stemming from “Bones” looking for what White said was a boost in payment to move to heavyweight and fight Francis Ngannou. White refused to improve Jones’ contract, and pointed to Jones’ history of outside-the-cage issues as something that’s hurt his star power in the sport. […]

Rays ace Blake Snell says he refuses to play for reduced MLB salary

Tampa Bay Rays star Blake Snell alleged he would not be playing this season for a reduced salary, particularly because the risk of getting coronavirus “is not worth it.” Snell protested Major League Baseball’s 50-50 revenue split with players for a season shortened by coronavirus in a video posted on social media on Wednesday. “You all have to understand, man, that I’m leaving – that I’m going to drop a salary, that’s not the case, because the risk goes through the roof,” said Snell when answering questions on his Twitch channel. “It’s a shorter season, less pay. “No, I must […]
