Dean & Deluca Betting Odds

With an exciting end to the AT&T Byron Nelson Championship coming up, the PGA TOUR shifts its focus to Fort Worth, Texas for the Dean & Deluca Invitational at Colonial Country Club where two of the brightest young stars in golf tee it up this week with a question mark hovering over their respective heads but it does not stop them dominating the head of the market.

Defending champion Jordan Spieth and uber-talented Jon Rahm have a little something to prove at Colonial, just outside Fort Worth in Texas, and the spotlight will be very much on the pair as we discover how they react to a recent blip or two.

Both have recorded victories already in 2017 but the game has just got the better of them lately so a little bit of mental fortitude will be required to go with the unquestionable talent.

When it comes to odds lists, Jordan Spieth is the +1100 favorite to go all the way. Jon Rahm (+1200), Sergio Garcia (+1400), Jason Dufner (+2500), Kevin Kisner (+2500), Matt Kuchar (+2500), Paul Casey (+2500), Bud Cauley (+3300), Marc Leishman (+3300) and Pat Perez (+3300) comprise the players with the 10 best chances to win the hardware.

When we look through this tournament’s history, we can see that the guys in the field who do well here tend to be the shorter hitters who keep it in play and hit a ton of greens. With that said, my daily fantasy golf picks feature several ball strikers who excel with their irons. The greens at Colonial are some of the smallest on tour, so good scramblers also get a bump this week.

The winds are projected to be whipping all week, so you’ll be well served to target golfers who gain strokes in the wind. You’ll also want to check the weather on Wednesday night, as one of the tee time draws could see a huge advantage depending on the wind. If you want to look at courses that play similar to Colonial, look no further than TPC Sawgrass and Harbour Town, both of which have very similar layouts.

When it comes to key stats to concentrate on, the ability to scramble well and be solid on hitting greens in regulation is incredibly important. Seven of the last eight Dean & Deluca champions have ranked inside the top-10 for GIR and scrambling, and only Boo Weekley – the 2013 winner – is the only man since 1997 to rank worse than 18th for scrambling.

Eight of the top 30 players in the world rankings will be making an appearance in the Lone Star State this weekend. Spieth will be looking to repeat after finally getting his first win in his home state a year ago at the event. The 23-year-old heated up on the back nine on Sunday to finish with a second consecutive 65 and a three-stroke victory over Harris English. The triumph was Spieth’s first win in 19 Texas starts, including a trio of runner-up finishes in 2015. Get the best betting odds on Dean & Deluca, sign up at Heritagesports.
