Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators

Florida Panthers at Nashville Predators

The Florida Panthers will seek their first four-game win streak in two seasons in a difficult place for them.

The Panthers are winless in their last nine road games against the Nashville Predators heading into Thursday night’s contest.

The Panthers head into Nashville as winners of their last three games and are starting to piece things together in the Atlantic division as they sit in fifth place but are just four points back of the Red Wings for second. Florida is one of those tough teams to figure out as they have a very good blue line and a ton of role players in the offensive end to go alongside Roberto Luongo who is very solid in the crease but overall they just don’t seem to have a playoff feel to them despite their play of late. The Panthers are a team I really like in terms of their make up and if they can continue to show they can play with the best in the East they should have a shot at getting back to the postseason where it’ll be wide open in a very underwhelming Atlantic division. Luongo gets the start as he will go up against Pekka Rinne.

The Predators meanwhile have stumbled over the last two weeks as they’re just 4-4-2 in their last 10 contests but an 8-2 mark at home has them as big favourites in this spot against the underrated Panthers. Nashville has had to deal with some injuries this season and the production of sophomore Filip Forsberg has certainly declined but the Preds remain in contention in the Central as they’re in third place with a 13-7-4 mark. Nashville is a good team and while the Panthers have a shot to win this one I think it’ll come down to goaltending and defending and as such I like the total better here as it should stay well clear of the over.
