The Line: Atlanta Hawks -8.5 — Over/Under: 205

The Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks will face off on Wednesday night

The Hawks and Knicks will occupy the same court for the third time in 12 days, and with the oddity of a four-day break during that run for Atlanta, the third match-up with New York will be intertwined with only two other NBA opponents.

In the first two match-ups, the Hawks prevailed 117-98 at home on Dec. 26, while the Knicks dominated the last meeting on Sunday afternoon to the tune of a 111-97 win. That Sunday matinee will be forever known as “The Arron Afflalo Game”, as the shooting guard erupted for 38 points on just 17 field goal attempts, but fortunately for Mike Budenholzer and his team, there will certainly be a short memory when Tuesday’s game tips off at Philips Arena.

New York (16-19) dropped the first two matchups against Atlanta this season but won 111-97 on Sunday at Madison Square Garden behind Afflalo’s season-high 38 points, five shy of his career best. It was the second win in three games for the Knicks after suffering their third four-game losing streak since late November, and just their second in the last seven against the Hawks.

The New York Knicks need a nice win after losing five of their last seven games. The New York Knicks are averaging 97.9 points on 43.4 percent shooting and allowing 99.6 points on 43.5 percent shooting. Carmelo Anthony is averaging 21.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while Arron Afflalo is averaging 13.7 points and 1.7 assists. Kristaps Porzingis is grabbing eight rebounds and Jose Calderon is dishing 3.8 assists. The New York Knicks are shooting 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 88.1 percent from the free throw line. The Knicks are allowing 31.5 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 11.2 turnovers per game. The New York Knicks have lost four straight road games.

The Atlanta Hawks look to keep rolling after winning seven of their last 10 games. The Atlanta Hawks are averaging 101.9 points on 45.9 percent shooting and allowing 100.4 points on 44.8 percent shooting. Paul Millsap is averaging 18.3 points and 8.9 rebounds while Jeff Teague is averaging 15.5 points and 5.8 assists. Al Horford is grabbing 7.1 rebounds and Dennis Schroder is dishing 4.3 assists. The Atlanta Hawks are shooting 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 79.7 percent from the free throw line. The Hawks are allowing 36.8 percent shooting from deep and are forcing 16.1 turnovers per game. The Atlanta Hawks have won four straight home games. Tiago Splitter is doubtful with a calf injury

While the Hawks have won four straight home games, the Knicks have lost four in a row and nine of 11 on the road.
