QB Cam Newton signs one year deal with Patriots

The New England Patriots have reportedly reached an agreement with former National Football League MVP Cam Newton, according to multiple reports Sunday night. The former Carolina Panthers quarterback will now step into the mix to compete for the opportunity to replace former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, who left to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency; Adam Schefter first reported citing league sources. Newton is signing a one-year deal with New England, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who also cites a league source and says the bare minimum deal with Newton has been quietly in the works. The incentive-laden deal is […]

TE Greg Olsen joining Seahawks on 1-year deal

The first domino of the Seattle Seahawks’ offseason plans has fallen into place. Late Tuesday afternoon, ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported former Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen signed with the Seahawks, a move that was later confirmed by the team. It had been reported earlier in February by Schefter himself there was mutual interest between the Seahawks and Olsen. Now the rumors have become reality as Seattle has made the first headlines of the impending free agency season. This is a great low risk, high reward signing for the Seahawks. With only $5.5 million guaranteed to Olsen, Seattle certainly isn’t […]

Panthers, Greg Olsen agree to part ways

On Thursday, the Carolina Panthers and Greg Olsen informed that they have agreed to mutually part ways. The 34-year-old tight end just finished his 13th NFL season, and ninth with the Panthers. As Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network states, the Panthers can’t officially release Olsen until after the Super Bowl, but this announcement means that they will. He was on the books for $11.6 million against the cap. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Olsen’s agent Drew Rosenhaus says his client “is still interested in playing” and that he will be in communication with other teams after the Super Bowl. Cam Newton planning to have foot surgery

The Carolina Panthers are in a state of flux as they parted ways with Ron Rivera, their head coach of nine years. Arizona Cardinals at Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers have defeated the Arizona Cardinals 49-15 in the 2016 NFC Championship Game. They advance to Super Bowl 50 where they will face the Denver Broncos who knocked off the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship earlier game this afternoon. The Carolina Panthers are going to the Super Bowl, in part, thanks to Newton’s amazing play. When it came to his passing game, he did throw the one interception, but he also completed passes to seven different men. Greg Olsen was as great as usual, leading the team with six receptions while tying for the most yards with 113 yards. Interestingly, it was little […]
