Atlanta Braves OF Eddie Rosario expected out 8-12 weeks to correct vision issues

The Atlanta Braves placed slumping outfielder Eddie Rosario on the 10-day injured list with blurred vision and swelling in his right eye and anticipate him to miss eight to 12 weeks. The Braves made the move before Tuesday’s game versus the Chicago Cubs. Right-hander William Woods was recalled to take Rosario’s spot, giving the Braves 16 pitchers on their 28-man roster. A star of the 2021 postseason, when he was the MVP of the National League Championship Series and helped the Braves win their first World Series title in 26 years, Rosario was off to a miserable start with just three hits in his first 44 […]

Colorado Rockies, Kris Bryant reach seven-year, $182 million deal

Third baseman Kris Bryant and the Colorado Rockies are in agreement on a seven-year, $182 million contract, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan on Wednesday. Bryant got off to a hot start in 2021 after a down and injured season in 2020. He cooled off some after being traded from the Chicago Cubs to the San Francisco Giants but still put up good numbers overall, slashing .265/.353/.481 between the two teams. MLB Network first reported Bryant had reached a deal with the Rockies. He was in the very early MVP conversation after hitting .322 in April and .327 in May. Bryant’s 1.078 OPS in April had Cubs fans excited […]

And the Cubs landed one of the top remaining starting pitchers on the free-agent market on Wednesday. “It’s one of the best franchises in all of sports and fan bases as well, so it’s extremely appealing to me,” Stroman said. “It sells out every single night. It’s the Cardinals first winning record since being 36-35 after winning the first game of a doubleheader at Atlanta on June 20. “I don’t think that the goal here is just to finish over .500.” Arenado said. “We’re looking at way more important things, and we’ve just got to continue to compete. We should finish over .500, but we want to get into the playoffs. “This series, […]
