The Cleveland Cavaliers and head coach John Beilein have discussed the option of him stepping down as head coach. ESPN reported late Sunday night that Beilein left for the All-Star break weighing his future as coach, including the possibility that the Feb. 12 victory versus the Atlanta Hawks was his final game in the NBA. Giants make Alyssa Nakken first female coach in MLB history

The San Francisco Giants made a historic transaction on Thursday, hiring Alyssa Nakken as the first female coach in MLB history. She will be an assistant coach to manager Gabe Kapler alongside fellow new hire Mark Hallberg. Nakken, 29, joined the Giants in 2014 as a baseball operations intern. She has worked with the Giants in their draft and player development processes and currently directs the team’s health and wellness initiatives, according to the team. Jason Garrett is no longer under contract with the Dallas Cowboys, effective Jan. 14, and that frees him up to seek employment elsewhere without Jerry Jones’ permission following the hiring of Mike McCarthy.
