DE Crosby gets $7.2M raise from Raiders in reworked contract

The Las Vegas Raiders are giving three-time Pro Bowl defensive end Maxx Crosby a $6 million raise for the upcoming season without adding any years to his current contract, league sources told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Thursday. The Raiders are also moving an additional $1.2 million into the 2025 season, according to the sources. Crosby, a fourth-round draft pick of the Raiders in 2019 out of Eastern Michigan, has become the face of the franchise since signing a four-year extension with $95 million in new money and more than $53 million guaranteed on March 11, 2022. Jaylen Brown’s 3 rescues Celtics in Game 1 thriller vs. Pacers

The Indiana Pacers, massive underdogs in these Eastern Conference finals, coming off a dramatic triumph over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden to advance to this series 48 hours earlier, had the ball and were up three with 10 seconds left. They only needed to inbound the ball and hit a free throw to seal the victory. But then Indiana threw the ball away, giving the Celtics life. And after a spectacular inbounds pass from Jrue Holiday — one of many spectacular moments from him en route to a 28-point, 7-rebound, 8-assist, 3-steal performance — to Jaylen Brown in the corner permitted Brown to rise […]

Bayern Munich trying to convince Thomas Tuchel to stay

After rejections from various candidates, Bayern Munich are reportedly reconsidering Thomas Tuchel’s departure as coach and working on a solution to convince him to stay. Tuchel is due to leave at the end of the season according to a mutual agreement made with the club in February. But finding a successor is proving harder than anticipated for Bayern. German media outlets Kicker magazine, the Bild tabloid, and Sky TV all reported on Wednesday that the club’s sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund were negotiating with Tuchel to reverse their joint decision from February. There are several hurdles that would need to be overcome. […]

Bayer Leverkusen ‘want, deserve more’ after record-setting night

Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso stated his team deserve all three titles available to them this season after they qualified for the Europa League final by overcoming AS Roma on Thursday. Furthermore, added the Spanish coach, his team had the look of group that wanted more from an already historic season. Leverkusen, the Bundesliga champions who have also reached the May 25 German Cup final, played their 49th match without defeat in all competitions, surpassing Benfica’s long-standing European record set from 1963 to 1965. They achieved the milestone after a late comeback from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw at home to Roma, securing […]

Jalen Brunson returns from injury, sparks Knicks to 2-0 lead

New York Knicks center Isaiah Hartenstein stated he heard the roar from the locker room. Jalen Brunson, who had exited with a right foot injury late in the first quarter of Wednesday night’s Game 2 versus the Indiana Pacers, had returned to the Madison Square Garden floor during halftime to see if he could push through the pain. The moment he walked through the tunnel, the crowd erupted. It was a noise so loud that Hartenstein and his teammates said they heard it from their lockers, and so intense that Brunson pleaded fans to tone things down so he could find the mental clarity […]

Dallas Mavericks sign coach Jason Kidd to multiyear extension

Jason Kidd has signed a multiyear contract extension with the Dallas Mavericks, the team revealed Monday. The deal comes just days after ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reported that Kidd’s name had been mentioned as a potential candidate for Los Angeles Lakers head coach, a job that came open when the team fired Darvin Ham. “We are excited to have Coach Kidd continue to lead our team throughout the coming years with this well-earned contract extension,” Mavericks governor Patrick Dumont said. “Kidd led our team to two playoff appearances in three seasons, and we are looking forward to his leadership in continuing to build and grow […]

Joe Burrow back to throwing at Bengals workouts

Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow marked a major offseason milestone on Monday. As the team started the second phase of voluntary workouts, Burrow was in uniform and throwing a pass in a video shared by the team. The Bengals were closed to the media on Monday. But quarterbacks coach Brad Kragthorpe told the team’s website he was pleased with how Burrow looked in his first practice back since suffering a season-ending wrist surgery last November. “He looked like the Joe Burrow we’re used to seeing,” Kragthorpe stated. “I didn’t see any difference. I thought the ball came out of his hand well. Confidently. I’m […]

Real Madrid won’t underestimate Bayern Munich in UCL

Carlo Ancelotti has insisted Real Madrid will not take Bayern Munich lightly in their Champions League semifinal despite their poor domestic season and labeled the German side “dangerous” ahead of the first leg at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. Bayern have relinquished the Bundesliga title for the first time since 2012 with their disappointing campaign playing a part in the decision to part company with coach Thomas Tuchel at the end of the season. Real Madrid are favorites to progress to the Champions League final at Wembley, but Ancelotti has warned his team against any complacency. “We’re preparing to play a big team with lots of qualities,” Ancelotti told a […]

Inter Milan clinch 20th Serie A title with win over AC Milan

Inter Milan defeated city rivals AC Milan 2-1 on Monday to clinch the Serie A title, the 20th time the club has lifted the trophy in its history. Goals either side of half-time by Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thuram set Inter on their way, but Fikayo Tomori pulled one back for AC Milan in the 80th minute and each side had a player sent off shortly before the end of the match as tempers flared. Inter were able to see out the result, though, and when the whistle blew to end the game they sat on an insurmountable 86 points, 17 clear of Milan with five matches to play in the […]

D’Angelo Russell falters late as Lakers drop Game 1

As much as the story of the Los Angeles Lakers’ season has been centered on the team looking to make up for its flameout in the Western Conference finals a year ago to pursuit a championship, there’s also been a personal redemption arc for point guard D’Angelo Russell. However Saturday’s 114-103 Game 1 loss to the Denver Nuggets, where Russell missed 13 of his final 16 shot attempts and scored 13 points, brought to mind some of his past struggles. “D-Lo is a huge reason why we’re here in the first place,” Lakers coach Darvin Ham said. “I’m not going to bail out on my […]
