Wild On Ice Springs 35-1 Upset In Sunland Park Derby

Frank Sumpter’s homebred Wild On Ice outdueled a determined late challenger and got clear in the closing strides to collect the $600,000 Sunland Derby (G3) as the longest shot in the field Sunday at Sunland Park in New Mexico. Sent off at 35-1 odds and ridden by veteran Ken Tohill, Wild On Ice tracked from third through six furlongs, then went six wide through the second turn before snatching the lead in upper stretch. He shook off a strong bid from Low Expectations and powered across the finish line 1 1/4 lengths clear of that rival, who was the second-longest […]

Spirit Of Boom was the in-demand sire on Day 1 of the Magic Millions Gold Coast March Yearling Sale, a session that arguably provided another reality check for the Australian market after a period of sustained growth. In one of the most brilliant performances in the history of Del Mar racetrack, undefeated Flightline staked his claim as the outstanding older Thoroughbred in America with a 19 l/4-length victory in the Grade 1, $1 million TVG Pacific Classic on Saturday in Del Mar, Calif. It was a record winning margin, eclipsing the 12 ½-length triumph by Accelerate in the 2018 Pacific Classic. His final time of 1:59.28 was only 17 one-hundredths of a second slower than the track record set by Candy Ride in the 2003 renewal of the mile and one-quarter contest. Trainer Kevin Attard has his Stanley Cup. Saratoga 2022: Travers could be Charge It’s coming-out party

The talent has always been there; Todd Pletcher has never had any doubts about that. Show up to Saratoga Race Course at the end of August. That very well could be the coming-out party for Charge It, a gray son of Tapit. Just listen to the words from Pletcher, who doesn’t hand out praises like some might hand out M&Ms on Halloween. “From the talent prospective, he can be as […]

Ohorilko added that they see positive drug tests a handful of times in the year, but a horse testing positive for meth is nearly unheard of. RED TR-Racing’s Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike shortened up to 1 1/4 miles for his daily exercise on Monday and left the track wanting to do more in his daily gallop for Saturday’s $1.5 million Belmont Stakes. Trainer Eric Reed stated he was pleased with the gallop, but knew Rich Strike needed to gallop farther when he had a spirited exit from the main track. Looking for the best online betting site and Live […]
