The Minnesota Timberwolves can’t seem to catch a break. Trading for D’Angelo Russell before the deadline on Feb. 6 was met with a wave of optimism for the Wolves’ future going forward. They landed the point guard they’ve been chasing for almost a year, and it’ll subdue and fears of Karl-Anthony Towns bolting now that one of his best friends in the league is suiting up alongside him. Nuggets go for fifth straight with Timberwolves

The Denver Nuggets have recovered from a disappointing road trip with a strong homestand. Friday will determine if they head into another couple of hard road matches on a winning streak or another disappointing defeat. The Nuggets are 4-0 since losing three of four games on an Eastern Conference swing, and to get their fifth straight victory would require beating a struggling Minnesota team.
