Chicago White Sox reinstate Tim Anderson from 10-day injured list, insert him back at top of lineup

Shortstop Tim Anderson was reinstated him from the 10-day injured list Monday prior to the Chicago White Sox opening a home series versus the Toronto Blue Jays. To make room on the roster for Anderson, Chicago placed third baseman Yoan Moncada on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to June 18, with a strained right hamstring. Miguel Sanó and Mitch Garver homered to back up Michael Pineda, and the Minnesota Twins defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 8-2 Sunday to win the season-opening series. Luis Arraez went 3 of 3 with a pair of walks as the Twins took two of three. Max Kepler and Sanó each drove in three runs. Pineda (1-0) gave up just one unearned run in five innings. Veteran left-hander J.A. Happ and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to a one-year deal, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan. The deal, which is pending a physical, is worth $8 million, according to multiple reports. The Minnesota Twins added two veteran arms to their starting rotation, signing free agents Rich Hill and Homer Bailey to one-year deals, the team announced Tuesday.
