In one of the most brilliant performances in the history of Del Mar racetrack, undefeated Flightline staked his claim as the outstanding older Thoroughbred in America with a 19 l/4-length victory in the Grade 1, $1 million TVG Pacific Classic on Saturday in Del Mar, Calif. Prairie Meadows racehorse tests positive for meth

A horse that won a race at Prairie Meadows has tested positive for meth. The horse named Drag Malibu was drug tested shortly after winning the third race of the day on May 29. “The horse had trace amounts of methamphetamine in his body when the horse ran in the race,” stated Brian Ohorilko, administrator of the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission. Ohorilko added that they see positive drug tests a handful of times in the year, but a horse testing positive for meth is nearly unheard of. Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike won’t run Preakness

Kentucky Derby long-shot winner Rich Strike will not race in the Preakness Stakes on May 21. Churchill Downs’ 2022 schedule includes Arlington Million

Led by the $3 million Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 7, a record 53 stakes races that total $20.37 million will be staged at Churchill Downs Racetrack this spring and summer. In addition to the 44-day spring meet, which runs April 30-July 4, Churchill Downs will host a special one-day Arlington Million Day program on Saturday, Aug. 13, thanks to cooperation from Ellis Park, the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission and Kentucky horsemen.
