Milwaukee Brewers add Travis Shaw to 40-man roster, where he’ll compete for spot at third base

Travis Shaw’s second stint with the Milwaukee Brewers is off to an encouraging start. The Brewers revealed Tuesday they have added Shaw to their 40-man roster, making him one of the leading candidates for playing time at third base. Shaw, who played for Milwaukee from 2017-19 and spent last season with Toronto, signed a minor league deal last month. The contract included terms stating he could request his release if the Brewers didn’t notify him by Monday whether they intended to put him on the 40-man roster. “It’s pretty much everything I expected, pretty much everything they told me going into the process so […]

‘Mild Sprain’ Pulls Senor Buscador Off Kentucky Derby Trail

Todd Fincher’s Senor Buscador is now off the Kentucky Derby Trail. After a key workout on Friday, by the next morning a mild sprain was discovered. According to Fincher, his colt will be taking time off, with the goal to comeback to racing at some point in the future. A couple days ago, as Ty Kennedy’s perspective went vertical, it then proceeded to accelerate along a horizontal trajectory. Such is the life of a jockey on-track. It is a series of beginnings and endings, but in between, there can be some incredible moments, as rider and Thoroughbred form a renewed alliance. Friday morning […]

Carlisle said there will be a “range of minutes” that he is looking for Porzingis to play, but that will largely depend on how he feels. The coach stated he will communicate with Porzingis throughout the game and check on how he is holding up. “The big thing is to get him back out on the floor,” Carlisle […]

Middleweight champ Gennadiy Golovkin to fight Kamil Szeremeta on Dec. 18

It’s been a long wait, but Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin ultimately is set for his mandatory IBF middleweight title defense versus Kamil Szeremeta. The two will meet on Friday, Dec. 18 on a card that will be streamed live on DAZN, the streaming service confirmed on Tuesday. Golovkin has not fought since October 2019 when he won a very competitive unanimous decision over Sergiy Derevyanchenko to collect the vacant IBF and IBO middleweight titles. Andy Murray will make his return to tennis at a behind-closed-doors tournament organized by his brother Jamie from June 23-28 in London, the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) said last Friday. Ben Simmons uncertain if able to return this season

Anyone who has had a pinched nerve in their back knows that pain can linger. That’s where 76ers All-Star Ben Simmons is right now. Rangers´ Corey Kluber pitches for fist time since arm broken

Corey Kluber faced major league hitters for the first time in 10 months — in a new uniform, no less — and said he didn’t feel any different. “Maybe a little bit beforehand,” the Texas Rangers right-hander said Sunday after throwing three innings versus the Los Angeles Dodgers. “But once you get out there and start stretching, playing catch, getting loose in the bullpen, all that stuff kinda goes away. “It just turns into another start, whether it’s the regular season or spring training. That’s kind of how everything usually goes for me.” It was Kluber’s first time facing a […]
