Longtime Nationals star Ryan Zimmerman announced his retirement Tuesday, ending a decorated career in which he became the franchise leader in many major categories and boosted the team to its only World Series championship. Tyler Glasnow struck out 11 over seven strong innings and the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays defeat the Washington Nationals 3-1 on Tuesday night for their 20th victory in 24 matches. Now that he’s set to play for the Washington Nationals this campaign, Ryan Zimmerman might stick around a little longer, too. Zimmerman and the Nationals made it official Saturday, revealing his $1 million, one-year contract.
