Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, misses cut at U.S. Junior Amateur

Tiger Woods watched his son, Charlie, shoot a 10-over 80 on Tuesday and miss the cut at 22 over through two rounds at the U.S. Junior Amateur. The 15-year-old Woods, who earned a spot in the 264-player field last month, concluded near the bottom of the pack. The top 64 players advance to match play, which starts Wednesday. The 36-hole championship match is Saturday. Woods did fare better on the Oakland Hills South Course, which Ben Hogan dubbed “The Monster,” than he did with an opening 12-over 82 on the North Course. Woods got off to a solid start on Day […]

Team USA has relocated halfway across the world but is still in a holding pattern with star Kevin Durant, who missed practice again Saturday with a calf strain and likely won’t play when the Americans face Australia in a friendly set for Monday. Coach Steve Kerr has been publicly downplaying any concern regarding the injury but pushed back his timeline before leading the team through practice. Namajunas vs cortez preview

The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday returns to Denver for the first time in nearly six years, and UFC on ESPN 59 follows what has become a familiar refrain. A lot of last-minute changes were required, but the company regrouped enough to put together a solid show at Ball Arena. As far as the main card goes, the central point of intrigue remains the headliner. Rose Namajunas was initially slated to serve as the next big test for top flyweight prospect Maycee Barber, but she instead faces short-notice replacement Tracy Cortez in a fight that still represents an interesting step up in competition for one of the flyweight division’s […]

Dodgers’ Ohtani snaps slump, achieves rare feat at plate

The Los Angeles Dodgers superstar had a day at the plate on Saturday that has happened only three times since 1909. The Japanese slugger went 2-for-2 with two RBIs in the Dodgers’ 5-3 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. That seems pedestrian until seeing that in five plate appearances Ohtani had a home run, a triple and two walks and was hit by a pitch while also registering a stolen base. According to MLB, Ohtani is the third player with a home run, triple, walk, hit by pitch and stolen base in a game. Looking for the best online betting site and Live betting? Visit […]

Padres star right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. stated he might not return from a stress reaction in his right thigh bone until after the All-Star Game. Tatis was placed on the 10-day injured list on Monday after dealing with the injury for essentially the whole season. “It’s a huge gap,” Tatis said when asked about the timetable for his return. “I don’t want to put it out there because people are going to expect stuff. But it’s going to be some time. We know with the right stuff we’re trying to aim after the All-Star Game, but we’re talking about something serious in […]

David Benavidez cruises by Oleksandr Gvozdyk, still wants Canelo

David Benavidez looked relatively at home in his first appearance at light heavyweight, cruising to a unanimous decision over Oleksandr Gvozdyk at the MGM Grand on Saturday night. Benavidez (29-0, 24 KOs) moved up to 175 pounds for the first time after his repeated efforts to entice undisputed super middleweight champ Canelo Alvarez into a fight fell short. He beat Gvozdyk (20-2, 16 KOs) comfortably, with the judges favoring Benavidez 119-109, 117-111 and 116-112, and claimed a WBC interim world title in the victory. “I think it’s a 7 out of 10, to be honest,” Benavidez stated when asked to […]

Nassourdine Imavov stops Jared Cannonier in UFC main event

Nassourdine Imavov earned the biggest victory of his UFC career on Saturday, defeating former title challenger Jared Cannonier by TKO in the fourth round. Imavov (14-4) finished Cannonier (17-7) with punches along the fence at 1:34 of the fourth round in their middleweight main event inside KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a solid performance by Imavov, although there was some controversy over the finish. Imavov hurt Cannonier with a right hand and had him in trouble along the fence, although veteran referee Jason Herzog did appear to be a little quick in stopping the fight. Cannonier was still very aware […]
