Christopher Nkunku scored a hat trick for RB Leipzig but ended on the losing side in a nine-goal thriller as Manchester City, last season’s Champions League runners-up, made a positive start in Group A with a 6-3 victory at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday. La Liga suspended indefinitely amid coronavirus

The RFEF has announced that professional football in Spain will only resume once the government deems there is no public health risk. La Liga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) have agreed to extend the suspension of the 2019-20 campaign indefinitely. Copa America postponed until 2021

On Tuesday morning, South American soccer’s organizing body Conmebol reiterated that it would be postponing the Copa América until 2021 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. The Copa América is South America’s flagship continental competition, involving the national teams of 10 nations, and was planned for June and July 2020. The decision was first reported by Brazilian journalist Martín Fernandez, who writes for Globoesporte, and later confirmed by Conmebol. Barcelona to meet with Xavi to replace Valverde
