Viktor Hovland, Xander Schauffele withdraw from WM Phoenix Open

Viktor Hovland, the No. 4 player in the World Golf Ranking, and No. 5 Xander Schauffele have both withdrawn from this week’s WM Phoenix Open, the PGA Tour revealed Monday. Hovland concluded in a tie for 58th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, defeating only 14 players in the limited field event. The Lakers are one step closer to Las Vegas. The Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz 131-99 on Tuesday to win their group and advance to the quarterfinals in the NBA’s inaugural in-season tournament. It appears the in-season tournament came at the perfect time for Lakers. Feliciano Lopez has been appointed tournament director for the Davis Cup finals, the International Tennis Federation said Thursday.
