Uncertain future for Danica Patrick

Last Tuesday, it was announced that the car-runner Danica Patrick won’t return to Stewart-Haas Racing anymore. The news were reported via Patrick’s Facebook page. She announced it on the morning that she will count with a new sponsor for the coming season. She will represent a new driver in 2018. She raced with the team for six seasons. Statistically talking, they earned together a Daytona 500 pole, they won some important races and finished in top-10 seven times. She also explained that her time with the team was already finished, but she wanted to thanks everyone that helped her throughout the last seasons. The sponsor announced it today. They also welcomed a new racer (probably Patrick’s replacement) and announced that Smithfield will start their sponsorship with them.

The 35-year-old racer had driven all her NASCAR career with them. This was a surprise for the fans, because she was due to end contract with them until 2018. The team had lost many important figures, as they lost the sponsorship of Nature’s Bakery after the first season of 2016. The brand stayed with the team just one season, even though they signed a contract for 3 years. The racer is now without a team for the coming season. They are other racers as Matt Kenseth and Kurt Busch that leave their teams on the last days. Both racers used to race for Joe Gibbs Racing. The problem around Patrick is that she is currently in 28th place in the charts. She has been an incredible racer throughout her career, and a place like that is a little bit disappointing for her and her fans.

There exist rumors that said that she will quit racing after the coming season. She talked several times to the press and explained that she want to continue racing, but only if she does it well. She doesn’t likes to be after the 20’s position, because she feels there is no opportunity to move. Patrick finished the statement saying that racing is not a funny sport, risking her life and not getting a reward is something she doesn’t wants in her life.
