The Copa America is an international association football competition established in 1916. It is contested by the men’s national teams of the members of the Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol (CONMEBOL), the sport’s continental governing body.  In a repeat of last year’s final, Chile won the 2016 Copa America Centenario in the early hours of Monday morning, beating Argentina 4-2 on penalties in New Jersey. After 120 minutes without goals, the decider went to a penalty shootout.
