Belmont Stakes Contender Charlatan Reportedly Fails Drug Test

Belmont Stakes contender and unbeaten Charlatan was reportedly one of two horses trained by Hall of Famer Bob Baffert that tested positive for a banned substance. Joe Drape of the New York Times reported the news, noting Charlatan and his stablemate Gamine tested positive for lidocaine at a meet at Oaklawn Park in Arkansas. Charleston to host tournament in June without fans

After a months long live-sports drought, the largest tennis event since the beginning of COVID-19 shutdowns is coming to Charleston, June 23-28. LTP Daniel Island will host a women’s tennis tournament, the Credit One Bank Invitational, which will be played without fans. The Tennis Channel will broadcast the event, which is composed of 16 singles matches and eight doubles matches. Jets signing Joe Flacco to one year deal

Less than a month after undergoing a neck procedure, Joe Flacco has found employment. Flacco has agreed to a one-year deal with the New York Jets, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported. The deal will pay Flacco $1.5 million and includes another $3 million in incentives, Garafolo added. Flacco underwent a 45-minute disc repair in early April, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported in early May. Warriors center Kevon Looney underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to repair a core muscle injury and is expected to be ready for the start of next season, the team stated. Looney, 24, missed 45 games this season with various injuries, including a hamstring strain, a neuropathic condition and, most recently, an abdominal strain that led to the surgery, performed in Philadelphia. Belmont Stakes to Run June 20 as First Leg of Triple Crown

The 2020 Belmont Stakes at Belmont Park in New York has been postponed by two weeks from Saturday, June 6 to Saturday, June 20 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But if it is, the Utah Jazz will be without one of their key contributors, as forward Bojan Bogdanovic is set to have season-ending surgery on his right wrist, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
