Erasmus back as Springbok coach; Flannery, Brown in technical team

Rassie Erasmus will coach champions South Africa to the 2027 Rugby World Cup, with former Ireland hooker Jerry Flannery added to the technical team as defense coach and ex-New Zealand flyhalf Tony Brown signed to sharpen the attack. Erasmus returns as head coach after four years, a role he held when they lifted the World Cup trophy in 2019, before moving to director of rugby as they retained their title in France last year. Astros’ Jose Altuve gets to stay ‘home’ with contract extension

Ten months from free agency, Jose Altuve knew what he wanted. “Houston is my home,” he said. England’s John Ryder retires after back-to-back losses

England’s John Ryder announced his retirement from boxing Tuesday at age 35 following back-to-back losses. Ryder (32-7, 18 KOs), rated No. 9 by ESPN at super middleweight, made his announcement 10 days after he was dropped four times en route to a ninth-round TKO loss to Mexico’s Jaime Munguia.
