Adolis García, Rangers agree to 2-year deal, avoid arbitration

Adolis García and the Texas Rangers agreed Thursday to a two-year deal, the team revealed. The deal, according to multiple reports, is worth $14 million and avoids a salary arbitration hearing for the American League Championship Series MVP and the World Series champions. Gareth Southgate has not ruled out remaining England manager through to the 2026 World Cup, saying Thursday that he would evaluate his future following this summer’s European Championship. Hornets to trade Gordon Hayward to Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder fortified their roster for a playoff push by getting Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets for guards Tre Mann and Vasilije Micic and forward Davis Bertans, sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. The Hornets also will receive draft compensation in the deal, sources said. Hayward is averaging 14.5 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game this season for the Hornets, although he hasn’t played since Dec. 26 because of a left calf issue.
