The New Orleans Pelicans have found their next head coach. Stan Van Gundy, 61, agreed to join the Pelicans on Wednesday afternoon, announcing his decision on Twitter. “I’m excited to join a talented New Orleans Pelicans team,” Van Gundy said on Twitter. “It will be an honor to work with our players and to work for Mrs. Benson and David Griffin, Trajan Langdon, their staff and the great people of New Orleans. The Tampa Bay Rays clinched the American League pennant with a triumph over the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS on Saturday night (TB 4, HOU 2). McGregor states he will fight Poirier on Jan. 23

It appears Conor McGregor is OK waiting until 2021 for his next UFC fight. On Wednesday, UFC president Dana White told ESPN, the promotion’s broadcast partner, that he wouldn’t give McGregor a 2020 date as wanted for a potential rematch with Dustin Poirier. The Arizona Cardinals have an agreement in place to sign free-agent cornerback Prince Amukamara pending the results of his COVID-19 testing, a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
