Rhys Hoskins carted off field in Phillies game with knee injury

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins was carted off the field Thursday because of a noncontact injury to his left knee. Hoskins suffered the injury while attempting to field a grounder in the second inning of the Phillies’ spring training match versus the Detroit Tigers. He was examined by team trainers and emergency medical personnel before leaving the field on a cart. The Phillies stated Hoskins will undergo testing on the knee, but they did not announce an official diagnosis for the injury. Philadelphia Phillies slugger Bryce Harper says he will report to spring training Wednesday as he continues recovering from elbow surgery and then determine when he can return full time. The two-time National League MVP was injured in April and last played right field April 16 in Miami.
