Chicago Bulls Sign Forward Alize Johnson to Two-Year Deal

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the 25-year-old power forward has signed a two-year $3.6 million deal with Arturas Karnisovas and Co.   In desperate need of depth at power forward after missing out on both Paul Millsap and LaMarcus Aldridge, Johnson entered the picture as a possibility when the Nets waived him late last week.   On a Monday where the Bulls also reportedly added both Stanley Johnson and Matt Thomas, Alize Johnson is easily the most intriguing signing. He might have the fewest professional matches under his belt, but he does provide better size and physicality for this team to slot into […]

Paul Millsap agrees to deal with Nets

Paul Millsap has agreed to a deal with the Brooklyn Nets, his agent, DeAngelo Simmons, told ESPN on Thursday. Millsap becomes the latest former All-Star to join the Nets over the past few seasons, joining Blake Griffin, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden. Millsap’s four All-Star appearances bring Brooklyn’s total up to 38. For the first time since his second year in the league in 2007-08, Millsap failed to average double figures in scoring last campaign. He averaged just 9.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in 56 matches for the Nuggets. Following a trade for Aaron Gordon in late March, Millsap lost the starting job he had held with Denver […]

Sacramento Kings rout Boston Celtics to claim NBA summer league title

Louis King slammed home a two-handed dunk with a little more than two minutes left in the third quarter of the NBA summer league championship game, let out a massive shout and promptly flexed with authority. Fittingly, it was King who dominated for Sacramento and concluded with 21 points to help the Kings cruise to a 100-67 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night in front of a sparse, masked crowd that barely filled the Thomas & Mack Center’s bottom bowl, an uncommon scene for a title game that has packed the venue in recent years prior to the pandemic. It was Sacramento’s first summer league […]

Phoenix Suns drop third straight, look to ‘regroup’ trailing 3-2 in NBA Finals

If there ever was a time for Monty Williams to come up with one of the adages he has been heralded for, it was after his Phoenix Suns’ 123-119 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Saturday. The loss was Phoenix’s third in a row on the Finals stage after it had dropped three in a row just once all season, back in January. And it came in excruciating fashion: The Suns squandered an early 16-point cushion and fell down 14 in the fourth, only to have their opportunity to take the lead back in the final minute go […]

Hawks blow out Bucks 110-88, tie series at 2-2 as Antetokounmpo leaves early with injury.

The Atlanta Hawks took on the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 on the Eastern Conference Finals Tuesday night, looking to even the series at 2-2 on their home floor. Without Trae Young, Atlanta certainly had their work cut out for them if they wanted to get back in the series. In what was a wild game, the Hawks were able to take home the 110-88 victory. The Hawks started the match on a 10-2, as it was team effort out of the gates. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, Lou Williams and Clint Capela all scored inside of the first three minutes […]

Phoenix Suns hopeful Chris Paul returns for Game 3 vs. LA Clippers

There is optimism within the Phoenix Suns organization that Chris Paul, out for the start of the Western Conference finals because of the league’s health and safety protocols, could return for Game 3 on Thursday in Los Angeles, sources told ESPN. However, as of the start of Game 2 on Tuesday, Paul had yet to be cleared, sources said. Tuesday marked the sixth day that Paul remained isolated from the team because of the NBA’s coronavirus-related mandates. While a positive test required a player to be quarantined for a minimum of 10-14 days this season, the league has different standards […]

Giannis Antetokounmpo shuns 3s, goes on attack as Milwaukee Bucks force Game 7

With his team’s season on the line, Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo entered Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals with a clear goal in mind: to attack every opportunity he could. After so much of this series has been dominated by chatter about his wayward jump shot, Antetokounmpo ensured Milwaukee would survive and force a Game 7 Saturday night in Brooklyn by relentlessly forcing his way to the rim. The result? Milwaukee cruised to a 104-89 triumph while Antetokounmpo finished with 30 points, 17 rebounds and three assists in 41 minutes — all while not taking a single 3-point shot. “That was just […]

Paul George sets tone with bounce-back effort as LA Clippers rout Utah Jazz in needed Game 3 win

Paul George used a cross-over dribble to move to his left before drilling a rainbow step-back 3-pointer over Royce O’Neale and letting out a scream. After hearing Jazz fans chant “overrated” at him for two games in Utah, an aggressive George had his best game of the playoffs, scoring 20 of his 31 points in the first half to set a much-needed tone for the LA Clippers on Saturday night. Kawhi Leonard then scored 24 of his 34 points in the second half to help the Clippers defeat the Utah Jazz, 132-106, and get their first victory of this Western Conference semifinal series. George’s first 30-point game since […]

Frazier’s 11th-inning HR lifts slumping Yankees over Rays

Clint Frazier hit a game-ending, two-run homer with two outs in the 11th inning after making a game-saving catch in the eighth, and the slumping New York Yankees defeat the rival Tampa Bay Rays 5-3 Tuesday night. The righty-hitting Frazier turned on a slider from right-hander Andrew Kittredge (5-1) and stood at the plate to admire the drive, capping a tight finish in which both teams came up short on potential rallies. One of those stalled efforts came in the eighth, when Frazier dove and needed every inch of his mitt to catch Joey Wendle’s soft-hit liner to strand two. New York ended a four-game slide and […]
