Max Muncy signs deal with Dodgers

Coming off an All-Star appearance in 2019, the Los Angeles Dodgers have rewarded Max Muncy with a contract extension.  Los Angeles announced the deal Thursday after The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal reported Muncy’s deal is worth $26 million over three years and includes a fourth-year team option for $13 million. Muncy’s deal comes as the Dodgers continue to wait for their acquisition of Mookie Betts and David Price as part of a three-team deal with the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins to become finalized.  ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported that trade is currently on hold after the Red Sox “were spooked” by their medical review of Twins pitching prospect Brusdar Graterol. Edwin Encarnacion signs with White Sox

Encarnacion reportedly agreed on Wednesday to a free-agent contract with Chicago for one year and $12 million. MLB Network’s Jon Heyman first reported that the deal was close before others reported that the deal was completed. Over the last eight campaings, he’s led MLB in total homers and RBIs, hitting no less than 32 long balls in each year during that span and reaching the 100-RBI mark six times.  The White Sox will be his fifth club in the last four years. After more than seven seasons — […]

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported Keuchel’s deal will be worth $55.5 million over three years, with a vesting option that could push the total value up to $74 million The southpaw found himself in free-agent purgatory last offseason upon declining a qualifying offer from the Houston Astros. He did not find a home until June, when draft-pick compensation would no longer be tied to his signing. He ultimately settled […]

Royals sign Trevor Rosenthal to minor league deal

The Royals have signed hard-throwing right-hander Trevor Rosenthal to a minor league deal, per Lynn Worthy of the Kansas City Star. The deal will pay the 29-year-old $2MM if he makes the team with an additional $2.25MM in performance bonuses, per Worthy. Additionally, Rosenthal will be a non-roster invite to MLB spring training. Rosenthal famously endured one of the more disappointing 2019 seasons league-wide after signing for $8MM guaranteed with the eventual World Champion Washington Nationals. That the Nats had to come from so far behind in the standings was at least partially attributable to the complete backfiring of their offseason bullpen makeover, which […]
