Bucs pass-rusher Shaq Barrett accepts franchise tender, files designation grievance

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have Shaquil Barrett in 2020, but it’s uncertain how much the team will pay him. Barrett informed the club he would accept the franchise tag Friday, but filed a grievance over the Bucs tagging him as a linebacker instead of a defensive end. Barrett, 27, has $2 million in reasons for filing that grievance, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. That’s how much extra money Barrett would have made had the Bucs designated him as a defensive end. Horse named after fauci wins race at keeneland

A young Thoroughbred with a celebrity namesake broke his maiden during the second day of Keeneland’s five-day Summer Meet. Fauci, a 2-year-old colt trained by Wesley Ward, notched his first career triumph during his second career start in the opening race at the Lexington track on Thursday. Tyler Gaffalione steered the heavy favorite to a hard-fought victory in the 5 1/2-furlong, $70,000 turf contest. Fauci was the 5-2 morning-line favorite but was bet down to 1-1 odds at post time, perhaps due to the cachet carried by his moniker. Co-owner Phillip Antonacci named Fauci after Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National […]

Rb Raheem Mostert request trade from 49ers

After demanding a raise the 49ers refused to give him, running back Raheem Mostert now has requested a trade, according to his agent, Brett Tessler. Mostert signed a three-year extension with the 49ers in 2019 that pays him $2.9 million per season—it’s a special-teams contract, as his agent pointed out. He had just 42 career carries before last season. But midway through the 2019 season, he became the 49ers lead running back and led the NFL in yards per carry with 5.6. He was one of the main reasons the 49ers went to the Super Bowl; they might not have […]
