Medina Spirit Collapses, Dies After Santa Anita Workout

This year’s Kentucky Derby first-place finisher Medina Spirit collapsed and died after a workout at Santa Anita Park on Monday morning, the California Horse Racing Board’s Equine Medical Director Jeff Blea confirmed.
