Talor Gooch of LIV Golf gets to play in at least one major this year. He revealed Monday on social media that he received an invitation to play in the PGA Championship next week. The PGA of America is not expected to release the full field until Tuesday as it waits to hear back from all the players who were offered invitations for Valhalla. Gooch’s invitation is significant because he rarely plays outside the LIV Golf schedule. His invitation was based purely on his performance in the Saudi-funded league. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow marked a major offseason milestone on Monday. As the team started the second phase of voluntary workouts, Burrow was in uniform and throwing a pass in a video shared by the team. The Bengals were closed to the media on Monday. The New York Jets, who thought they had the quarterback position locked up for more than a decade when they drafted Zach Wilson with the No. 2 pick in 2021, traded him to the Denver Broncos on Monday. Based on their original investment, the Jets got pennies on the dollar — they will get a sixth-round selection (No. 203) in this week’s NFL draft from the Broncos, who in addition to Wilson will get a seventh-round pick (No. 256). Inter Milan defeated city rivals AC Milan 2-1 on Monday to clinch the Serie A title, the 20th time the club has lifted the trophy in its history. Renault-owned Alpine revealed another managerial shake-up on Monday with three new bosses replacing technical director Matt Harman and aerodynamics head Dirk de Beer, who have left the Formula One team after a dismal start to the season. LA Clippers guard Russell Westbrook — one of the NBA’s top sixth men — underwent surgery on his fractured left hand on Monday, and there’s hope he’ll return before the start of the Western Conference playoffs in April, sources told ESPN. The club described his status as week-to-week. Westbrook fractured his non-shooting hand in a Friday night triumph over the visiting Washington Wizards.
